Terms of Use

Terminus is made by Rune Art Ltd ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us about your use of the Terminus app and the services it uses: notifications, photo and video hosting, link previews and translation.

Terminus is an app for reading and posting on Hypersnap, a public network that we don't run or control. Almost everything you see in Terminus was posted by other people, often from other apps. We don't write, check or endorse it, and we can't remove it from the network.

You must be 16 or older to use Terminus.

You sign in with an account you already have on the network. You're responsible for keeping your recovery phrase and wallet safe, and for everything posted with your account, including from Terminus. Anyone who has your recovery phrase controls your account, so never share it.

There is no tolerance in Terminus for objectionable content or abusive users. You agree not to use Terminus to post, share or send anything that:

• is illegal, or encourages illegal acts;
• sexually exploits or endangers children;
• harasses, bullies or threatens anyone, or incites violence;
• attacks people for their race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, gender, sexual orientation or similar characteristics;
• is sexually explicit or gratuitously violent;
• impersonates someone, or misleads people about who you are;
• is spam, a scam or malware;
• infringes someone else's rights, such as copyright or privacy.

You also agree not to misuse our services: don't attack or overload them, get around their limits, or use them for anything other than Terminus.

You can mute accounts, words and threads, and block accounts, so you don't see them. If you see a post or an account that breaks these terms, report it: on Android, with Report Post or Report in its menu, or on any phone by emailing contact@rune.art with a link to it.

We act on reports within 24 hours. Because the network isn't ours, we can't delete posts from it, but we can remove them from what Terminus shows, and stop accounts that break these terms from using Terminus and our services.

Posts go to a public network: anyone can see them, in any app, and they can't be fully deleted. You keep ownership of what you post, and you confirm you have the right to post it.

When you upload a photo or video through Terminus, you let us host it and serve it at a public address so Terminus and other apps can show it, for as long as it may be shown.

Terminus is in beta. It will have bugs, and features may change or go away. Our services are provided as they are, and we may change, limit or stop them at any time.

Terminus is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss that comes from using Terminus, including from content other people post, from the network or its nodes, or from losing access to your account or keys. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google, and neither is responsible for Terminus or its content.

On iPhone, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app. On Android, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply to getting the app from Google Play.

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Using Terminus after a change means you accept the new terms.
