TERMINUS Farcaster on Hypersnap for iPhone and Android Public beta →

Support

Terminus is in public beta. If something's broken, confusing or missing, tell us.

Email contact@rune.art. For a bug, say what you did, what you expected and what happened instead; a screenshot helps. Terminus is made by Rune Art Ltd.

Beta feedback

The quickest way during the beta is TestFlight's own: take a screenshot in Terminus, tap it, and choose Share Beta Feedback. Or open TestFlight, choose Terminus and tap Send Beta Feedback.

If Terminus crashes, TestFlight offers to send us the report.

On Android, the beta is coming to Google Play. Until it opens, install Terminus from its APK: download it here, and allow your browser to install apps when Android asks. The APK is signed with the same key as the Play version, so once Google Play has a newer version than yours, open Terminus's page there and tap Update to keep getting new versions. An APK doesn't update by itself; the same link always has the newest one.

On Android, send feedback by email. Once the Play beta opens, you can also send it from Terminus's page in the Play Store, and Google Play shares crash reports with us from phones that allow it.

Signing in

Terminus signs in with the Farcaster account you already have: type your recovery phrase, or approve this phone from your wallet. There's no new account to make, and signing in costs nothing. Terminus adds its own posting key to your account with a Hypersnap message, so there's no transaction and no gas.

Your phrase is used on the phone to make that key and isn't kept, unless you choose to keep your account key on this phone behind Face ID or Touch ID (on Android, your fingerprint, face or screen lock).

Keys and security

Keys stay in your iPhone's Keychain, or on Android in the Android Keystore, protected by the phone's secure hardware. They aren't in your backups and are never sent to us.

Settings › Signers lists the keys on your account, from Terminus and from other apps, and lets you revoke one. If a key on your account changes, Terminus tells you.

To stop using Terminus on a phone, choose Sign Out in Settings, or Sign Out and Remove Data to clear what it kept there as well.

Nodes

Terminus reads and posts through a Hypersnap node. By default that's haatz.quilibrium.com, run by Quilibrium.

In Settings › Network you can set your own primary node and a backup, and see each node's ping. If yours don't answer, Terminus falls back to the default, unless you turn on Use Only My Nodes.

When the network falls behind, Terminus says how late the posts are.

Photos and videos

What you attach to posts, and your profile picture and banner, are hosted by us at media.onterminus.com so every app can show them. Photos are redrawn before upload, which removes location and camera details.

To have one removed, email contact@rune.art with a link to the post or the picture.

Deleting a post in Terminus marks it as removed on the network, but copies others already made may remain.

Muting, blocking and reporting

You can mute accounts, words and threads, and block accounts. Muted and blocked accounts stay out of your feeds and out of your notifications.

To report a post or an account that breaks our terms: on Android, choose Report Post from the post's menu, or Report from the account's menu. On any phone you can also email contact@rune.art with a link to it. Reports of child sexual abuse or exploitation come first; see our child safety standards.

Privacy

Terminus has no analytics and shows no ads. The privacy policy lists everything our services keep, and for how long.
